Nearly 12,000 images were submitted to the contest and Steve's photo won the Pro Division "Other Wildlife category". To help celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the founding of the National Wildlife Federation, Nature's Best Photography magazine will be publishing a selection of the winning images in the Winter 2007 Special Edition.

Steve's image will also be exhibited at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington DC, beginning on November 10, 2006, and will remain on display through March 2007.

Additionally, Steve won the Grand Prize and First Place Awards at the prestigious National Wildlife Annual Photography Competition for four consecutive years.

His artistic expression is the fruit of an intimate encounter with the natural world, where walking humbly amidst its spaces offer visual gifts to the keen observer.
