Growing up in Western Canada, I lost a bet and ended up moving to New Jersey, aka Nirvana, over 15 years ago. With all the stereotypical observations this state has been pelted with, I set out to see first hand what all the fuss was about. Off the beaten path, I discovered a landscape that quickly inspired me to walk humbly amidst its spaces. Its ability to offer visual gifts to the keen observer is staggering. So changing gears, I decided to make my living as a professional photographer, focusing much on expressing the fruit of an intimate encounter in the garden state's natural landscape.
In recent years my career has been winding its way through other facets of the profession, including lifestyle, editorial, and commercial photography. I'm enjoying the diversity. Life and all of its idiosyncrasies, makes the hunt for the next great image a passion, an obsession. I have come to the conclusion that you are either anticipating a moment, or chasing it.
To borrow an expression from a dear friend, it seems the things in life that hold the most lasting value are the ones that are not achieved alone. With the immense help of so many, I feel a sense of maturity in my photographic experiences, a journey I only now recognize looking back over the many fortunate years I have been afforded to chase the sound of the shutter.
